About Blinking Photo
Foreword
It's not just a photo anymore - it's the button people click, It's the primary link to you in cyberspace.
Technology:
First thing we don't and actually can't change your original photo - that's safe we make a copy.
Graphic manipulation takes a lot of CPU - the bigger the graphic the longer it takes.
So I've limited thm to the size on the left, which is easily big enough for the vast majority of people.
Intrigue
Ohh the intrigue of it: I've timed it to blink for a tenth of a second which is enough to catch your eye,
and enough to notice its text or picture. To read it you will have to stare at it, well I do, but I may be slow.
The thing is you wonder "what does it say?" "what is the message from this person". Indeed "what is it that this person cares about".
And "how do I know if I care about the same thing unless I read the blinking message. I do love the work "blinking"
If you flash an image - popular logo or brand name you will see it instantly no problem.
This is becuase hunams stroe everthying as imgaes even wrods are stroed as pattren imgaes,
this is why you were able to raed this setnence even thuogh narerly evrey wrod was missepplled.
Future
Well it depends how successful this site becomes and if it makes any money.
But optimistically I think there is a lot more I can do with technique.
It could be used for branding, logo's, websites, people might like to blink their favourite designer logo or football team.
Business might get interested?, lets face it no one's clicking banners anymore. This can be used as a viral marketing technique,
I can generate them on the fly so who knows in the future you may be selling your blink for hard cash, generating money with every click.
Fun
It's a bit of fun, you can come here anytime and make a new blinking photo.
New trends come along, new phrases, catch phrases, and I'll be adding more to choose from.
I played with putting moving eyes on photo's that follow the cursor that's hilarious. I might do that if I can figure out eye placement.
